Place the grid over your reference image
Lay your transparent drawing grid on top of the photo or reference you want to draw.
Draw the same grid on your drawing surface
Lightly draw a matching grid (with the same number of squares and scale) on your paper or canvas using a pencil.
Focus on one square at a time
Start drawing what you see in each individual square. This breaks the image into smaller, more manageable parts.
Check proportions and alignments
Use the grid lines to help keep shapes, lines, and details in the right place and in correct proportion.
Erase the grid lines
Once your drawing is complete and accurate, gently erase the grid lines on your paper.
Add final details and shading
Refine your drawing, add details, and finish with shading or color as desired.
